Jesse Jones Nature Park
From Downtown Houston, take US-59 North to FM 1960 West. Turn right on Kenswick Drive, which leads straight into the Park.

Notes for those I'm "shooting" at Jesse Jones Park and Nature Center 1. You'll want to park in the lot off to the right immediately after entering the park gate. 2. It is 1/3 mile walk (5-8min) from the parking lot to the shoot site on a good sand/gravel path, sooo  ya might wanna bring a pair of walking shoes.   3. The map shows a restroom there at the site (and indeed there is one HOWEVER, when I went to check it out -during posted open hours- it was locked and appeared less than well kept)... so, likely the best bet for changing will be in the log cabin where there is a door that can be closed BUT with a 5-8 min trek each way you'll likely want to make a "pit stop" at the main restrooms by the entrance before heading out to the shoot site.  4. If we get hit by unexpected hard rain, we can shoot in and around the nature center at the entrance but it won't be nearly as much fun.

Quintana Beach

 

Location: 330 5th Street Quintana, TX 77541 GPS Lat: 28.934576 Lon: -95.302438 Driving Directions to Park: From Houston: HWY. 288 south to Freeport, until it dead ends.  Turn right on F.M. 1495 and cross bridge.  Turn left on C.R. 723 (3 miles).  Turn right at dead end!  PARK ENTRANCE. From Galveston: Cross toll bridge at west end of island.  Travel 15 miles south on C.R. 257 to surfside.  Turn right onto HWY. 332 and go approximately 8 miles.  Turn left onto C.R. 523 go 2 miles, the road veers left and changes to F.M. 1495.  Stay on 1495 and cross two bridges, turn left on C.R. 723 (3 miles).  Turn right at dead end!  PARK ENTRANCE. From Corpus Christi: HWY. 35 intersects HWY. 36 at West Columbia, Take 36 south to Freeport and it dead ends at F.M. 1495.  Turn right and cross bridge.  Turn left on C.R. 723 (3 miles).  Turn right at dead end!  PARK ENTRANCE.
